Vintage Set of 2 Clear Dolphin Koi Candle Stick Holders Marked MMA EX Condition

  

Vintage set of two clear glass candle holders featuring a dolphin design. These candle stick holders are marked with MMA and are in excellent condition. The elegant design, showcasing dolphins, adds a decorative touch to any space, making them ideal for collectors or individuals looking for unique candle holders. Commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art circa 1970 to mimic a "Dolphin" holder by Boston & Sandwich glassmakers before they closed shop in 1888.

Their commissioned holders were called "Koi" by MMA, rather than. "MMA" was imprinted on those during the 70's.

Post-Commission, Imperial continued to produce them for a time until closing their doors in 1984. This set is imprinted with the IG, but not MMA.

9"T, 3 7/8" Square hollow base, weighing approximately 26 oz each.
