VERY RARE Pair Cambridge "Lyre" 1936-39 2 Light Candelabra Candlestick Holders. In the shape of a harp.
9.5" tall x 11" wide. If you're looking for a gift for the Cambridge collector that has everything.. So rare I only found one photo in a candlestick identification book and more so because this is a pair. The reference did not know the pattern number or dimensions.
These are now listed in the Glass Lovers Database. Made between 1936 - 1939 in clear crystal. There's a possible relationship between Sea Shell and Krystolshell lines.
They were redesigned in 1939 for pattern #1474 Regency. These came in without the bobeshes and crystals. I've added 4 repaired locking bobeches. You have 2 prism options (while they last). The original book photo shows them with uncut pointed prisms. I chose 2 similar prisms in 2 lengths with a cut design. I actually think the cut design looks better. The second option is a more streamlined straight prism. The choice is yours, see photos, please let us know which you prefer. Condition is good, they have the usual air bubbles. I found 2 small fleabites on one, which at 1st I thought were air bubbles, see photos. I was unable to find replacement locking bobeches, they are increasingly hard to find. So these bobeches were repaired and stabilized using a UV cured auto glass windshield repair kit.See photos for complete description including size. Items are added daily and or weekly. We will do our best to get it to you when you need it!
