Lalique originally introduced this item as a cigarette holder. That was back in the day when everyone smoked. It was pretty common to put a cigarette holder filled with cigarettes.

And an ashtray out on your coffee table for guests. Since smoking is on the decline. This lovely cigarette holder can be repurposed. It makes an ideal votive candle holder.

The size is just right at 3.25 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter, and it has a 1.75 inch circular opening which is perfect for a 1.5 inch candle. Amazon now sells inexpensive battery operated flickering LED electronic votive candles that flicker and work well too.

They don't create a mess of melted wax. The candle light flickers through the beautiful Lalique crystal design. All photos are my own (no stock photos). My first photo shows the piece with one of those LED candles inside. My last photo shows it being used as a display item on an asian display stand. This is a beautiful signed Lalique Tokyo piece. Lalique's legendary quality is immediately apparent.

It has that classic Lalique look of satinized or frosted glass contrasting with sparkling and ultra transparent clear crystal. Hand crafted in the Alsace region of France by skilled craftsmen. It does not come with the original box but will be carefully packed and insured.
