Frederick Carder Steuben Jade & Alabaster Centerpiece and Candlesticks. This gorgeous set dates to the mid 1920s. The centerpiece and one set of the candlestick are a family heirloom that was passed down several generations in my Wifes family. The family always referred to them as the lady in the boat.
Two of the four candlesticks are acid etched with the Fleur De Lis and Steuben banner. Here is what they had to say (in part). One pair of Green Jade Candlestick in shape number 6593. These line drawings can be seen in The Glass of Frederick Carder written by Paul Gardner, on page 166. This would have been made in the mid to late 1920s as that is when the Jade Glass production was started.
The second being a Green Jade Center Bowl, 14.5 length, with Alabaster Flower Frog and Kneeling Girl Figure. This is unusually as it is still in perfect condition, a lot of times these frogs and inserts got damaged from [being] used. The Bowl is similar to shape number 6747 with a little variance in the opening. The Frog and Figure are shape 6495. They used the Frog with several other inserts depending on what the individual wanted. They would have also been made in the mid to late 1920s. I have found a chip to the bottom of the alabaster frog.
