Daum Wild Horses Candle Holder Pate de Verre French Crystal Mint

  

This is a very nice Daum Pate de Verre Candle Holder featuring a pair of wild horses. Colors are very light blue, clear, and amber with gilt trim. Beautiful translucent Pate de Verre crystal.

Condition is excellent with no notable damage. I would be difficult to tell this apart from a new one.

Measurements: Height: 3.75" Width: 2.5", Depth 3. Signed Daum France on the bottom. This piece was hand made in Daums Nancy France workshops by skilled artisans. Pate de Verre items are created from a paste of different colored crushed glass particles.

These are placed in a mold and then fired in a hot kiln for ten days. The glass particles fuse together forming an attractive Pate de Verre item. No two Daum Pate de Verre items have the same exact coloration because the particles are distributed differently in the molds. The ancient lost wax process is used which enables Daum to execute designs that would not be possible with traditional press molding.
