Blue Opaline Portieux Vallerysthal Chimeres pair 7¾ inch candlesticks VGC
A stunning 19th Century antique pair of 7¾ inch high "Chimeres" design candlesitcks in Blue Opaline milk glass, by Portieux Vallerysthal, in excellent vintage condition. Exceptionally well press-moulded, with a striking lobed border to the tapering base, and on the stems a pair of winged crested Chimera with their long tails wrapping around a scrolling Acanthus stem. Approximate dimensions: height 7¾ inches ca. , base diameter 4½ inches ca. These candlesticks are of a good heavy weight, making them practical and very stable to use.
Condition: without chips or cracks or any damage. Some minor points of roughness to the inner mould joint on the lower edge of one base, not visible when standing upright.
