Antique Jade Green & Gold Glass Mantle Lustre Candle Holder & 10 Crystal Prisms
This is truly a one-of-a-kind find! Here is an antique jade green with gold trim glass mantle lustre / luster candle holder, with 10 crystal prism spears. The mantle lustre, a towering 13 1/4 tall x 6 in diameter, is of jade green glass and highly decorated with gold trim and gold flower petals atop a geometric black band at top and base. The candleholder is quite lovely, in truly EXCELLENT CONDITION and shows no damage or repairs. Just a little bit of the gold trim on the edges has worn off.
The dangling prism spears each measure 9 x 1. One is missing the top small prisms. Some have small nicks and need to be rewired. Huge candleholders known as mantle lusters or lustres were popular in the Victorian era up to the 1930s to 1940s, when people primarily used fireplaces.
