Antique Candle Holders Art Nouveau Silver Deposit Floral Overlay on Glass Pair
There is tarnish on the undersides of the overlay, one has a thin ripple or imperfection in the glass as shown and both have scratches on the bottoms. The candle holders are not identical, showing slight variation in the pattern on the bases. Antique Candle Holders Art Nouveau Silver Deposit Floral Overlay on Glass Pair. This pair of antique silver deposit or silver overlay glass candle holders are decorated in Art Nouveau style flowers. They sinuous flowers on the each of the four sides and a wonderful flowing design on the base.
The tops are completely covered in silver with the angled corners decorated in a repeat of the foot pattern. One is marked at the top edge, SILVER DEPOSIT J404 and the other is marked in the same manner on one side of the base. Both are etched on the bottom, 178-32-1605 with 874 on one and 8030 on the other. The maker is not identified.
The candle holders measure 7 5/8" high with a 3 3/4" square base. A beautiful set dating between 1890 and 1910. I do not mark merchandise values below their actual value or mark items as "Gifts". US and International governments prohibit such behavior.
