Antique Blue Opaline Luster Victorian Mantle Candle Crystal Handblown Glass 1800

  

Stunning 1800s blue opaline glass mantle luster in excellent condition. It is free of chips and cracks.

The crystals show some signs of clinking together over the years. A few have small chips on the edges, corners and tips. It appears one crystal has been replaced by a near perfect match, there are only slight difference and you realy have to be looking for it to notice it, it also hangs ever so slightly lower than the others due to its metal hanger being a bit longer.

The gold paint on the base, stem and top is still intact and vivid, the paint on the scalloped top has worn thin in parts. The stem and base are hollow and very narrow so over the years dirt and dust have made their way in.

I've tried fizzing it out and letting it soak, but I was unsuccessful in removing it. In the photo that shows the bottom you can see some slightly darkened areas, that is some of the internal dust stuck on. Please view all photos carefully and if you have any questions just ask!
