ANTIQUE PAIR FRANZ WELZ CZECH BOHEMIAN GLASS CANDLESTICKS URANIUM MANGANESE. EXQUISITE MATCHING PAIR OF ANTIQUE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN GLASS CANDLESTICKS WITH GLOWING URANIUM & MANGANESE INCLUSIONS. Presenting a magnificent pair of antique Czechoslovakian spatter glass candlesticks. These stunning candlesticks have been spectacularly coloured with a striking combination of randomly sized mottles lime green, glitter green, fiery golden yellow and white milk glass. The transparent golden yellow glows with appealing fiery tones in natural light and the glittery green mottles add a gorgeous jewel-like sparkle to the glass. As spectacular as these pieces are in natural light, pop them under a UV black light and the real excitement begins!

The vibrant lime green mottles glow with a most intense radiant red due to the addition of manganese and the transparent golden yellow mottles glow with a beautiful green due to the presence of uranium. An exceptionally attractive colour combination which really wows! The combination of lime green and glitter green mottles condense within the wide, stable foot, graduating smoothly into the golden yellow and white milk glass colouring the tall, slender stem and candle cup. The random mottles are encased within the clear glass form and follow the sleek contour of the glass as the mottles were stretched with the casing as it was formed into shape.

These exceptional examples date to the early part of the 1900s and are believed to have been produced by Franz Welz. This stunning matching pair of candlesticks are presented in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. There is the odd exceptionally minuscule rough spot to the top rims, noticeable only on extremely close examination by touch but mentioned for complete accuracy. This fine pair have been very well cared for and present spectacularly. Each piece is marked to the base with an oval shaped white printed mark reading "Made in Czechoslovakia", although there is some wear to one of the two marks. These stunning candlesticks each stand approx 260mms or 10.25 inches tall, measure 115mms in diameter at the base and 53mms in diameter at the top rims.

This exquisite pair would make an outstanding addition to any quality Franz Welz, Czechoslovakian / Bohemian art glass, or uranium / manganese glass collection.
